If you’re feeling like the world is chaotic today, you’re not alone.
Disorder is pervasive, both globally and personally. Yet, in the midst of turmoil, God can guide you towards peace.
On an international scale, we witness upheaval in the Middle East, food and water scarcity in many nations, conflict in Ukraine, and oppression in places like North Korea.
Domestically, we face challenges at the border, communities struggling after natural disasters, the plight of missing migrant children, and economic instability.
You may also be navigating a personal storm of chaos. In such times, feelings can overwhelm us. But here’s an important question: Have you considered God in your situation?
For those who follow Christ, remember that God oversees your daily circumstances. Difficulties must first pass through His hands. When you feel burdened by your challenges, recall Paul’s reassurance: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:8).
In our weakest moments, God remains steadfast. In a moment of crisis, while the disciples panicked in a storm, Jesus slept calmly in the boat. When they awakened Him, He asked, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" (Matthew 8:25-26).
Like the disciples, we often respond with fear and anxiety, forgetting that God is in control. When Jesus rebuked the storm, "it was completely calm" (Matthew 8:26). Our storms test our faith, but God is always there to help us, whether He calms the storm or allows it to teach us reliance on Him.
Consider the depth of God’s grace. When life feels chaotic, we can lean on Him, our anchor in the storm. Scripture tells us, "God is not a God of disorder but of peace" (1 Corinthians 14:33). Nature itself, as revealed by telescopes like Hubble and James Webb, showcases God's grandeur and order, reflecting the truth that "the heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1).
God sent His Son to bear our sins, assuring us that He never forsakes those who trust Him, especially in turbulent times. He understands our struggles because He created us, and He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Often, believers experience disorder due to sin. When we succumb to our sinful nature, we lose our sense of peace and connection with God. The remedy lies in repentance and the reminder that "the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
Encouragement abounds for Christ's followers. "God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear" (1 Corinthians 10:13). When life feels out of balance, reflect on what has triggered these feelings. It’s vital, especially amid chaos, to turn your focus to Jesus.
God invites us to trust Him in every circumstance. "Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you" (Psalm 50:15). No matter your challenges, Jesus extends this promise: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).
When your soul is aligned with your Creator, your perspective can shift dramatically, even as storms continue to swirl around you.
